BIO.
Neil Joseph Perry was born in Morrisville, Vermont on 3rd July 1942, the only child of Tom and
Mary Perry. Growing up, great things were expected of Neil from a young age, with his father painstakingly planning every bit of his future: Welton Academy, then Harvard Medical School, then the world.Welton Academy was an elite preparatory boarding school hidden
in the countryside of Vermont, welcoming a a small intake of boys every year with only the brightest minds and the richest parents. Neil was enrolled at the age of twelve, immediately finding friendship with a group: Charlie Dalton, Knox Overstreet, Stephen Meeks, Gerard Pitts and Richard Cameron. He joined extracurriculars, stayed on top of his grades, and became a model student at the Academy.In his Senior Year, Neil gained a new roommate named Todd Anderson, who soon became a close confidante. Following the tutelage of their new eccentric English teacher, John Keating, the group formed the ‘Dead Poets Society’, a club where they would gather, read poetry, and seize the day.It was at this time that Neil discovered his love of acting, much to his father’s ire. Rebelling against Mr Perry in order to act in a retelling of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, his father threatened to pull him from Welton and enroll him in military school. Realizing that his life will never be his own, Neil took his own life in his father’s study in December 1959.

AU in which Neil either does not commit suicide or his father catches him before he can pull the trigger. Neil finishes school (either at Welton or military school) and enrols into Harvard Medical School in Boston at the wish of his father.the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.
After graduating from Harvard, Neil becomes a doctor and is highly regarded in the medical field. Despite this, he is deeply unhappy with the trajectory of his life.
For a happier AU, this could also follow Neil leaving Harvard and pursuing his love of acting. However, there would need to be a plot-driven reason for this.you can go anywhere.
